Notice 1 : The AGM will be on Monday 14th May at 7pm Deer Park, usual inticement of free table tennis that night if you arrive and register before 7pm.

Notice 2 : Graham Slack will be standing down as our Chairman at the AGM due to his commitments on coaching across the county which he really wants to concentrate on, this will include CTTL on a Tuesday night.

Notice 3 : You willl see the 3 links above, please view them and comment back to me or any committee member with your views, we are seriously looking at using the TT365 software and website to create the a new CTTL league website similar to those above.

The advantage on this change would the League no longer dependant on one person to run and update the website with results as is the current state ( I will continue to be your Website Officer ).

Should i be ill for any length of time then updates would not happen to the current Website.

Other people can be set up as administrators to allow them to update results using the software that would be supplied to them. Ken Bridle has used the software to update the British League website, he said that the input process was easy to learn.

MESSAGE from the CHAIRMAN

Hi everyone,
As 2011 comes to a close I imagine you will all have had good and bad results in your matches, tournaments, etc but that is what keeps us all enthusiastic about our fantastic sport. Without you all our leagues would not be able to continue so you are the vital to the survival and development of our sport. 2012 will be a fantastic year for us all as the Olympics will inspire many youngsters and older people to take up table tennis and we must be prepared for a large influx of new players. We can manage this with your help.
Table tennis players fall into several categories:-
1. Players who have served on committees in the past and have “done their bit” for table tennis. We all owe these players a big thank you.
2. Players who currently serve on committees. These are the people who keep our leagues going and we also owe these a big thank you.
3. Players who moan whenever they can and never help. We would like these players to use their energy in a positive way and consider joining their local committee.
4. Players who play and have never considered helping. These players are vital to our leagues but have so much to offer in other ways. Please consider helping you local committee.
5. Junior players who need help from us all to put Gloucestershire back to the top of table tennis in England.

I imagine you will all know which category you fall in and whether you are able to offer Gloucestershire TTA your ideas, etc. We always need more help and would appreciate any offers from you. Please let me know if you are able to offer any help.

I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and look forward to seeing many of you in 2012.
Regards.
Graham.

Cirencester Table Tennis League

Club marked, Cirencester Table Tennis League played host to Pink Pong on the weekend of Oct 15 2011, which is a registered charity associated with Table Tennis, raising money for Breast Cancer. The brain child behind the fund raising idea is Liz May from Plymouth whose close friend and Women’s British League team mate Helen Lambert was struck down by the illness.
The event was a great success with players from all four leagues in Gloucestershire attending the event. Many players who were not able to attend supported by purchasing raffle tickets and donating prizes as did local Cirencester celebrities Jackie and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.
The total raised was
£554.47p which will go into the Pink Pong charity. It is hoped that after the success of this year we are able to host another Pink Pong day next year.
